About the founder

Lilian Liu is an award-winning sustainability strategist and director, named Greenbiz 30 Under 30 class of 2020 and Grist 50. Over the last decade and a half, she worked with some of the world’s most influential companies and organizations on ESG, social and environmental sustainability.

At Braze, Lilian was hired to establish and lead the company's sustainability and ESG programs. She built a leading strategy and foundation from the ground up, elevating Braze to a sustainability leader and driving deal flow. Before that, she was the Senior Strategist at Futerra in New York, consulting for Fortune500s and innovative start-ups. She led corporate partnerships and industry initiatives at the United Nations Global Compact, including strategies to advance the UN Sustainable Development Goals and serving as a founding member of the UN Fashion Alliance.  

Lilian is a frequent speaker at places like Trellis, New York Times, Harvard University, and the UN. She serves as an advisor for impact-driven organizations, including EarthPercent, Northzone, SparkLabs Ventures, and Pledge 1%. 

With a multi-cultural background from her Swedish upbringing, Chinese heritage, and calling New York home for over a decade, Lilian brings unique global insight to her work.
